poll: who else should return to Hollyoaks?
Reeling from the news that, despite “entertaining” us for months with 12 year olds shagging, scary faced dads and demonic child-women, the Sharpes will not be returning to the village, we took a moment to consider the flurry of recent Hollyoaks arrivals and departures.
As we wave goodbye/good riddance to the latest cull victims, we are facing a new phenomenon: that of the returning Hollyoakser. Yes, it seems that no exit is final. No cruise ship is too remote, no prison too secure or divorce too acrimonious to stop long gone characters coming back to the Chester fold. Even death cannot stop them.
And now after week that has seen a new family vacancy open up aswell as the joyous* return of Bombhead (not to mention Kyle Ryder, Gaz and Doug at some point), we’ve been thinking about what other Hollyoaks escapees we would like to make a return.
So we did a poll! Our not-very-weekly-but-it’s-supposed-to-be poll. So have a vote.
(Note we have only included those characters who are still alive or could be, else a poll wouldn’t be needed – Rob Hawthorn all the way)

Has to be the zenmeister, Foz. Has he been in a hash-induced haze in Goa since 2006? If Nancy can’t be with Darren, she needs Foz back in her life. Don’t think he had much personality, but the tats were nice. I can’t put Bambi and Thumper cos they is happy and luvved up in Dublin.

Voted for Louise – she is needed, even without storylines. I want to just know shes there….. but I would love to see Niall come back and perhaps the revenge could be reversed and Mercedes could infect him with her dormant Aids.

Now while Vile Niall, Bambi and Thumper are my favourites, I had to go for Eli because I’d like Niall to stay dead and the frolicking gays to stay in Dublin. Eli, on the other hand, was fab and deserves more than just being a talking head in the Dales.

I always love Nial, but if I’d have to go with John Paul and Craig. I loved them. If we had the choice of dead characters though, I’d choose Kieron. I loved him more.

I seconded Bambi & Thumper, but since Thumper’s currently living in another village & straight, I’m not holding out hope for a return to Chester.
My fear is that Bambi’s not too successful in Hollywood and HOL makes him an offer to come back and he says yes. It would mean that something bad would have to happen in Dublin for Bambi to come back home with his Thumper.
