Ding ding! This week saw the kick off of Leanne Vs Amy round 102. And we know whose side we’re on.
So with this is mind, we caught up with Leanne’s alter ego, the lovely Jessica Forrest, outside the SU bar for a cheeky chat:
Hello! Just so you know, we’re definitely Team Leanne. How will she cope when Lee leaves? We’re worried!
I think she’ll be very sad and she might go a bit mental, but then she’s mental anyway so it’s probably going to be quite entertaining to be honest !
Hopefully she’ll find her feet and be just as loopy on her own, stand on her own two feet for a bit.
Yeah, so the loopiness…there have been many loopy Leanne moments thus far. What has been your fave?
I loved all the stuff with Lee and Love is a Minefield, it was so cute and fun to film, and we had such a laugh. Alex (Carter) is one of the best friends I’ve made in Hollyoaks!
Are there any other Hollyoaks characters you would like Leanne to cross paths with?
I think it would be quite funny for her to be in a room on her own with the more extreme characters like Brendan and Mitzeee. Imagine what would happen!
My first scenes were with Cheryl – the psychic stuff – now I feel more trained as an actress it would be cool to work with Bronagh again. I love working with funny people and I love all the comedy stuff - it’s the most fun to film!
Leanne and Doug had a bit of a thing when they first arrived (the lucky mare). Do you think that will ever resurface?
Ooh probably not – at this point we both get distracted by the Hollyoaks cat (a tabby that roams the set of Hollyaks. Maybe it’s Brendan’s familiar?)
So, erm…<trying to remember what we were talking about>…will we ever get to meet her family?
Not as far as I know. It would be quite funny if her mum came into it and she was either completely bonkers or really straightlaced. Maybe a little bit bonkers like overly straightlaced, like ironing underwear and socks!
Oh yes…<remembering our pre-cat train of thought>…will there be any more romance for Leanne?
Oooh maybe a new person. She’s scouted around the village a bit already. I think her and Doug’s romance is over, I don’t think he’s bothered about Leanne – I don’t know why, she’s drop dead gorgeous!
We’re sure she’ll make someone a wonderful wife one day!
Yeah, well that’s what she wants!
We’ll marry you, Leanne! It might not end well, but we’d still go there.

I love Leanne. The idea of a Leanne-Mitzeee or Leanne-Brendan scene sort of boggles the mind though.
I’m a bit sad to hear that she and Doug probably won’t be involved with each other again. During what I like to think of as the Starlight Express episodes, when she was hanging out with Texas and then got chatting to Doug in the SU Bar, I was rather desperately hoping they’d become a threesome and band together to hunt down Silas. And Leanne would have to be the one to catch him, obviously, to make up for the fact she’s lying about having been attacked by him to Texas and Doug. But I think she could probably outmad him and then hit him with something heavy if push came to shove. Sadly it doesn’t look like it will come to pass. Hollyoaks hardly ever do the storylines I dream of ::sigh::
