With the body of a playboy bunny and the voice of a binman, Mercy’s name is ironic – namely because she doesn’t have any! There are few men in the village that she hasn’t had a bit of – and surely it’s only a matter of time before Jack and Newt succumb to her charms! A self-confessed sexaholic, she was one corner of the Gilly-Beth-Rhys love quadrangle (once memorably shoving garlic bread in Rhys’ face) but now keeps herself occupied by barmaiding at the Dog and getting up to mischief with Darren (an unholy alliance if ever there was one).

Following her romance with Malachy she may potentially have the hiv. But at least he married her, eh? Every cloud, etc.
