Eli

Now Hollyoaks has featured many weird and wonderful things – mother corpse hiding teenagers, blonde-hating serial killers, incest fests and Darren, to name but a few – but Eli is a first. A militant, fro’d figment of Newt’s imagination, Eli is hellbent on wreaking havoc on the world, be it through smoke bombs, graffiti or pub cellar destruction. His increasingly murderous thoughts have resulted in Newt’s sectioning and diagnosis of schizophrenia. Surely a clever-clogs like Eli would have known this would mean the end of him!?

The schizo drugs have sadly banished Eli to the darkest corners of Newt’s mind. But when Newt switches one nuthouse for another when he returns to The Dog, we think a relapse could be on the cards and Eli will be back in our lives. We can but hope.

As we predicted he had a brief reappearance when Newt discovered the Jack fake death scheme, but sadly popped out of existence again once Newt started to reassert his sanity. Boo. We still think he will be back though.

In a genuinely amazing face/off between Eli, Newt and all-new imaginary friend Rae, our favourite ‘fro’d one was bested and was last seen swaying eerily at the bottom of a quay. One of the greatest characters to grace the screens of Hollyoaks. Fact.
